What We Do
The NICU can be a very overwhelming environment where parents often struggle to bond with their new little one. We provide families with care packages and special items to assist with the bonding process.
The hardest part about being a NICU parent...
“I think one of the hardest parts about being a NICU mom was trying to find a balance between caring for my newborn and my three other children at home. My advice to other NICU parents is know that you are not alone. We found out how large our village was and how many NICU parents there are. I felt like someone took a brick and shattered my world, but as a former NICU mom told me, there is a light and you will rebuild.”

““[One] hard part is dealing with the guilt I have. I know I didn’t do anything to cause my early labor, but I feel bad. I hate that his first 24 hours of life were filled with so many pokes (multiple IVs and lab draws), and I couldn’t be there with him. Owen spent 18 hours in the NICU. When he first got there, they said he may not come home with us. I was not prepared for that. A strong support system is key, and so is a positive attitude for surviving a NICU stay. The best was knowing he was being taken care of and watched closely. I never feared for his safety. I trusted the nurses and the NICU staff.”
